How Many Aerial Angles Does a Listing Actually Need?
Choose the number of aerial photographs by the questions they answer, not by a desire to fill the gallery. A useful selection changes the information from frame to frame: recognition, layout, outdoor features and surrounding context.
Assign a purpose to each requested image
Draft a short shot list before booking. For example, the first view identifies the home, the second explains a pool behind it, and the third shows a detached structure. If two proposed views answer the same question, keep the stronger one or request a meaningful change in direction rather than a slight variation.
Distinguish capture coverage from the final selection
The photographer may capture alternatives to account for light, obstruction and composition. The delivered scope depends on the booked service; the final listing selection is another decision. Confirm both with AVS. Receiving several options does not mean every image must appear in the public gallery, especially when they repeat the same relationship.
Review the sequence beside the ground photographs
Aerials should connect to recognizable ground views. Follow an overhead pool image with a terrace photograph, or place a building-group aerial near images of the separate structures. Remove near-duplicates that interrupt the tour. Buyers should not have to reconstruct which building or outdoor area they are seeing after every transition.
Example: a compact suburban home
For a hypothetical home with a simple lot, one angled exterior aerial and one view of the backyard may add enough context. A wider neighborhood image is useful only if it explains something relevant and accurate. More altitude and more directions do not automatically create more useful information.
Select aerial views deliberately
- Give each image a distinct question to answer.
- Confirm the deliverable count when booking.
- Compare aerials with the rest of the gallery.
- Remove repetitive or ambiguous views before publishing.

Should I upload every delivered aerial?
You can select the images that best explain the listing. Keep the full delivery archive, but publish a coherent sequence instead of assuming a larger gallery is always better.
Can the exact planned angle always be captured?
No. Weather, obstacles, lighting and flight constraints may change what is feasible. Explain the information you need so the operator can consider an appropriate alternative.
